5 of 5 A good practice bullet January 4, 2015
Reviewer: Mark from Oklahoma City, OK United States
I've tried these in both 7.62x39 and 7.62x54r.

In x39 cartridge I helped work up a load for a AR-15.  Wound up with a working load of 22.0 grains of H4198(same powder he used for jacketed bullet loads) with OAL of 2.2".  That cycles the action fully and gives about 2 to 2.5 inch groups at 100 yards, with velocity averaging ~1800fps.  Yes, that's faster than X-Treme recommends, and higher than I expected.  I can say that- in that rifle at least- no nasty copper fouling in the bore, and very consistent accuracy.

In 7.62x54R, I just started experimenting, using 15.0 grains 2400 propellant.  Longest range I've been able to shoot at so far is 30 yards at an indoor range, and results are good: with iron sights and a so-so rest, I'm getting ~1" groups, with no nastiness in the bore.  No velocity readings, can't set up the Chrony there.

For some rifles it would be nice if the bullet had more of a taper and a smaller flat on the nose, but overall very good bullets for the purpose.

4 of 5 Good Cheap Plinkers July 2, 2014

I worked up some 30-30 loads with SR4759. 15.1 Grains got them to fly a pretty consistent 1575 fps. My 336's micro-groove barrel seems to like them as I hold under 3" groups @ 100 yrds. There also was no apparent drop with this load, from the scope set for full house rounds, at that range.

4 of 5 Great Plinker June 12, 2014
Reviewer: Richard from Bullhead City, AZ United States
Bought 500 of these at my local gun store as they were inexpensive and I wanted lighter recoil than with my cast bullets in my 7.65 Arg. Mauser. I started with 17 gr. 2400 and blew the first few to bits. I eventually ended with 8.5 gr. Red Dot for 1437 fps before they stopped key-holing and became accurate. Shoots like a .22 LR (recoil and velocity) but rings the gong at 100, 150, and 200 yards with authority. I just wish they were heavy plated so I could match the velocity I get from my cast rounds (2000 fps).

4 of 5 Nice Quality April 22, 2014
Reviewer: Anonymous Person
I found the quality and consistency of these bullets to be very good.  They were bright and shiny and I was hard pressed to find any significant defects.  I weighed a random sampling and found the weights to also be very consistent.  I shoot these out of my M44 as a plinking round, but plinking is somewhat of a misnomer.  I am getting sub 1 inch groups at 50 yards with iron sights and my eyesight is not all that great.  I also shoot these at 200 meters at silhouettes with very good results.  I get about 1200 fps with my recipe and have found this to be an ideal velocity as I found accuracy to go down at faster speeds, at least in my gun.

The only reason that I don't give it 5 stars is because I would love a longer and heavier bullet so that I did not have so much bullet jump.  I realize that these bullets are designed for X39 and not X54R, I just wish there was a X54R option.

That all said this works extremely well for what it is and I will be buying lots more in the future.

2 of 5 NOT FOR USE OVER 1500 FPS!!! March 3, 2014
Reviewer: treemaniac from WA United States
Got these bullets to load up some ak/vz ammo, after searching for OAL info online,I found many guys looking for load data on these bullets. A lesson to me on plating vs jackets, long story short these "plated" bullets will start losing the plating at 1500+ fps! My goal was to load quality, better then I can buy ammo for a reasonable price. Some guys still get these for loading short range plinking ammo, but have trouble getting ak's to cycle at below 2000fps. Personally I don't see the point of loading plinking rounds when bulk steal case is so cheep and now readily available. A simple disclaimer about the 1500fps on the order page would be advised for dumb newbies like myself ;)

5 of 5 123 grain for my mosian nagant December 6, 2013
Reviewer: derek lanning from Lebanon, OR United States
this work and feed great in my mosian nagant I used IMR 4064 at 50.4 grains and a c.o.l. of 2.630 and they feed great and shoot perfect and no issues with the fps in the barrel even after 200 rounds no signs of copper in the bore and I picked up some of the shot bullets from a stump after digging them out and the copper plating is still attached and they smash up like a hunting bullet should  so in my opinion I love them and ordering more of them
